Our Kung Fu Family:

At Kung Fu Schools Wimbledon, you will find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a great learning experience for your child. Through our Kung Fu Classes, we offer a wide range of teaching techniques to keep your child engaged while learning. We work with a positive attitude, focusing on rewarding and praising children for good behaviour, focus, and technique.

Kung Fu offers many different opportunities for improvement, be it your self-confidence, self-awareness, physical fitness and many other aspects. We know of the importance of improving your mental as well as your physical strength, which is why we encourage a non-competitive setting in our children’s classes so you can focus on the “I cans” not the “I cant’s”.

Within our classes, we aim to build your child’s confidence, discipline, and focus. Our aim is improving their overall technique, fitness, perseverance, and self-awareness, while they have fun and make friends.

Tom Scivier

Tom Scivier is one of our hard-working, motivated instructors. Keen to provide knowledgeable, practical training with valuable techniques. Assisting and instructing within other Kung Fu Schools, has taught Tom to provide fun, engaging classes for children of all ages.

Tom is passionate about his Kung Fu and has always had an interest in Martial Arts, he is dedicated and strives to constantly improve his own skills.

“I have dabbled in a few different martial arts. Trying both Karate, and Boxing when I was younger. I also trained Kickboxing alongside Kung Fu for some time, however I realised that focusing on my Kung Fu was what I was really passionate about.

I Joined Kung Fu Schools, after being encouraged to try it by my brother Si Hing Oliver Scivier, who instructs at Kung Fu Schools Sutton. I started quite unsure of both myself and what I was walking into, but soon became hooked. I loved my own training and wanted to teach it to others.”

Tom Gilbert

Tom Gilbert is a confident instructor, teaching our children’s classes. With an NVQ level 3 qualification in child care, early learning and development. Tom has a background in working with children of varying ages, over a number of years, and he is truly a fantastic instructor with a lot to offer. Tom trains hard and is dedicated in his martial arts training. He prides himself on being able to work with and engage with children actively as an instructor.

“I’ve always been interested in boxing. Since I was a child, it was boxing that I drifted in and out of. It never crossed my mind that the martial art for me would be something so different, like Kung Fu.

I started my journey towards instructing while training Kickboxing with Tom Scivier. Throughout this time, Tom kept trying to persuade me to try out Kung Fu where he trained. I was never interested and always turned the offer down. When I finally caved in and agreed to give it a go, I was almost certain I would never enjoy it.

Since starting Kung Fu I have become dedicated and very focused on it. To be able to teach children Kung Fu as an instructor is something I enjoy immensely.”
